As a physical expression of the John Hardy brand, we were commissioned to create a bespoke sculptural installation for their new flagship boutique in Seminyak, Bali.
Taking inspiration from the brand’s legendary woven silver chains, we designed a monumental 10-metre-long hanging sculpture, fully three-dimensional and handwoven from slepan and busung leaf. One of the largest and longest-lasting commissions we’ve ever delivered (now over 5 years) it took four weeks to construct and three days to install. Suspended like a living chain above the showroom, the piece brings dynamic movement and a sense of deep connection to the brand’s Balinese roots.
As the store designer stated: “We wanted to choose local materials that evoke a sense of handmade involvement, and your process and story are amazing. Your sculpture brings incredible movement and true connection to our origins. What an incredible piece — thank you.”
The design resonated so strongly with the brand’s identity that it sparked the creation of a new interactive in-store experience, where guests are now invited to forge their own silver link with a resident silversmith, adding to a growing, collaborative chain. This project stands as a powerful fusion of craft, heritage, and storytelling — a modern interpretation of tradition, brought to life through natural form.
